(More customer reviews)I would not have expected to see anything but the real side of Buddy.
I trained under Master Costigan from 1987 - 1997, in Florida and Maryland/Penn.
He always was protective of the dark side of his Vietnam experience,
and rarely spoke, choosing to withdrawl or show outward anger at the memory.
This book should help lessen some of the angst he felt, by getting it into the open.
Buddy likes to party hard and play hard, and overachieve in all he does.
When his leg problem came up he needed personal space to deal with it
in his own way, just like 'Nam. With the experiences he writes about in this book,
you can see that he is forged from steel that not many people understand.
I for one feel I owe him my life, as a few short self defense lessons enabled
me to fend off a armed robbery in 1987. This may not have been possible had I
not met him in Florida. There are many others across the world that can probably
make that statement, based on this "extremely dangerous man of peace". That tattoo
is on his arm, and now it has more meaning to me now than ever.
Buddy, thank you for penning this book, and don't stop regaining your "chi" with your
power lifting. This book isn't pretty and language may be crude, but is real, it is you.
It shows what many never even get a chance to understand, let alone live through.
